Double Zipper Seal Storage Bags, Gallon / Large 200 Count

These are exactly what I've been trying to find in stores for a long time... Was hoping I wouldn't need to go online to find normal gallon bags, but here we are.

Stores nowadays seem to carry only the "stand up" special gallon bags, which used to be the "fancy" ones, but are now "the standard," because companies realized they can cheat you out of being able to use the whole bag especially if the contents aren't heavy enough to extend the bottom down... Then they can hide the fact that they are clearly not as tall as they used to be even with the bottom extended...

Admittedly, both types can hold an Oreos party pack - the "stand up" ones cut it close though, having you worry if you should even seal it with out tight it gets, hoping it doesn't tear - which it does eventually if you reuse them like I do.
But these normal gallon bags have plenty of room between the pack and the zip to ensure easy, no stress opening and closing of the bag.

I bet these would fit a 5# bag of sugar no problem like gallon bags used to. Found out you can't do that anymore with the "stand up" variant.

These are wonderful storage bags. Since the big name press to seal zipper bags converted to a design with a pleated bottom that I call "Stand and Spill", I have been looking for good quality storage bags with a straight unpleated bottom. The problem with the pleated-bottom bags is that the linear dimensions of the bag are very much reduced from the plain rectangular bags with a straight, unpleated bottom, so a lot of the things that I am accustomed to storing in the original style bags just do not fit in the pleated-bottom bags. These bags have the linear dimensions that I need. The quality plastic is at least as good as the big-name brand bags. I don't have a micrometer handy to measure the thickness of the film, but it is substantial, and the feel of it tells me (as a retired chemist somewhat familiar with the subject) that it is probably a good quality polyethylene. Specifically for his review, I tested the seal by putting some water in the bag and holding it inverted for a while (see attached photo). Nary a drop escaped. I just hope that 24/7 bags does not follow the lemming herd by replicating the blunder committed by the big-name storage bag maker when they switched to a pleated bottom design, as most of the "compare to" brands have done. These are very good bags, and now that most other storage bags have pleated bottoms and reduced linear dimensions, they fill a really important niche

After checking all the grocery stores here, I found that NO ONE carries the normal, 1 gallon zip lock bags
anymore. They are ALL "Stand 'n Stuff", which means you only have 3/4 of the former "gallon size" to
work with. This is totally unacceptable, not to mention the fact that those new bags do NOT "stand" at all!
They collapse the minute you try to put something into them.

In any case, I've been very happy with these. They give you the former dimensions that are needed to
fit things into them. Price is.... adequate. No big savings, but I have what I wanted now.
